MyMathAide is a virtual Math-assistance service that supplements your on-campus Math Center, Math-Lab or serves as a critical resource for online programs.  
MyMathAide was specially-designed by faculty members with distinctive features:  
  • (shares many of the features outlined above)
  • 24x7, online tutorial support for Math, including other disciplines using Math concepts
  • basic and intermediate Math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus) and Statistics
  • developmental feedback and supplemental tutoring, but never actually doing the work
  • help students understand fundamentals (method, applying formulae etc)
  • feedback not only points out mistakes, but also points out error patterns, if any
  • analysis of student-usage by discipline, course, demographic identifiers

WriterAide is a Assess+ writing-assistance service that supplements your on-campus writing center or writing-lab. Improving students' writing, by its very nature, is a laborious process of having students write multiple drafts based on extensive feedback. At a time when employers are appealing for graduates to have better written communication skills, institutions need to enhance their capacity to work with students. Our TAs have at least a Masters degree (and sometimes a PhD) in English Language (or Literature) and are further oriented in the art of providing rich feedback.  
WriterAide has been specially designed by faculty members with distinctive features:
  • 24x7, online tutorial support for writing projects in any academic discipline
  • rich feedback is embedded into student submissions (see Assess+ for details)
  • experts offer tips, guidance, strategies, but never spoon-feed students!
  • feedback on grammar, rhetoric and composition (expository vs narrative)
  • facilitate organization of thought and ideas; encourage higher-order thinking
  • feedback tailored to genre of writing ¾ (a) academic writing, (b) business, professional and technical communication and (c) creative writing
  • feedback can be based on rubrics provided by instructors or that we develop
  • special assistance to ELL students, given their unique needs
  • retain all drafts of written work in an e-portfolio (permission-based viewing)
  • analysis of student-usage by discipline, course, demographic identifiers

How it works  
WriterAide and MyMathAide can be structured in a variety of formats:  
  • supplement on-campus center whose tutors focus on knottier/ motivation-related issues
  • as the critical tutorial service for online programs, given the lack of face-to-face feedback
  • to supplement feedback provided by the instructor in regular classes
  • as a special-tutorial service for students who need additional assistance
  • "progress report" can be set up, with regular or occasional updates sent to instructors
  • institution pays only for what its students use (rather than a fixed-fee commitment)
